First Time

Hello everybody,

We are a team of 5 poeples and I can say that we are beginners in all electronical stuff. So for us, this project is a huge challenge and we are glad to take this challange.

First, we have to know what we can do & how to do it! So we had a first lab explaining the basis. Here begins our adventure.

This first lab allowed us to learn how to use the Arduino software and also to see the course of a lab session.
In addition, several exercises have been carried out to learn more with this new technology.

Applications

  • Installation, first program and blink an outside LED

The first step was to install the software and to make the first application.

In this application, we had to adapt the program to make blink the LED with different time.

  • Vary the intensity

Here, we had to vary the intensity of the LED thanks to PWN outputs of the Arduino board.

First, we adapted our previous program to vary the intensity of the LED sawtooth.
Secondly, we changed this option in triangle function.

  • Count from 0 to 9 on a 7-segment display

For this application, we looked at the datasheet of the display and we used it to count from 0 to 9.

To achieve this result, we had to use the function “digitalWrite”

Example:

digitalWrite(ledPin, HIGH);   // sets the LED on
delay(1000);                  // waits for a second
digitalWrite(ledPin, LOW);    // sets the LED off
delay(1000);                  // waits for a second
} 

  • Binary counting over 5 bits

In this application, we had to make a binary counter on 5 bits where one LED represents each bit.

Now that we had a first approach, we’ll discuss with the team & we’ll try to select our project! See you soon with an other article.
